Come play in this practice that explores how you relate to yourself and the world around you. Tap into the present moment and into your creative body.
The act of writing, moving pen across paper, integrates mind, body, and spirit.
- Tina Welling, Writing Wild
Integrate body and mind through movement and journaling. Enjoy two short movement practices: one with awareness focused inward (interoception) and one with awareness focused outward (exteroception), each followed by a prompted journaling reflection.
After practices, we’ll come together for the opportunity to be heard and to listen–there is healing and learning in both. Bindu is a safe space to share or just listen. The session will close with a savasana.
The process of writing itself unveils or shapes what is inside waiting to be released, discovered.
-Sarah W. Bartlett, Director of Women Writing for Change
You do not need any prior yoga or writing experience to join this session! Movement practices are inspired by yoga and somatic movement. Participants should be prepared to use forms like cobra, downward facing dog, and child’s pose–modifications will be offered. Writing practices are inspired by the work of Transformative Language Arts, a method of writing for personal and collective change and growth.
