Slow down with somatic movement and lay a foundation to strengthen your physical body and your connection to movement.
Each class in this series will open with a short somatics sequence–likely done predominantly or completely laying on the floor–to explore the subtleties of movement. Somatic movement involves gentle, mindful movements that help us inquire into how our muscles, joints, and minds relate, and how we experience movement.
We’ll then discuss the benefits of somatic movement and how we can transition our body’s learnings into a strong practice. With that, we’ll enjoy a flow centered on slow strength and mindful movement. Participants should be prepared to do 30-40 minutes of Vinyasa-style yoga. Classes are all levels, but built to challenge you wherever you are in your practice. Classes will close with a Savasana.
